This Ends Now!

I’ve been working on a book I started almost a year ago to the date… seriously, I first wrote the outline for this particular story almost exactly one year ago today.

I had a good story, I knew that, but I had no ending. I was compelled though to write it, and so I have been, working on it, pounding it out, page at a time, yanking parts of it from my like pulling teeth and then others times flowing so fast my fingers quite literally could not keep up with me.

Today, like a thunderbolt, like lightning striking me, the ending came to me, revealed to me in layers that unfolded before my eyes, and I stumbled quickly to my keyboard and began typing…

I had to take a break to use the bathroom facilities and grab a soda to down it so I’d just have to use the facilities again, and thought I’d pop in and let everyone know where I’ve been and why there hasn’t been much blogging today.

Finally, my story has an ending.

As I said in my forum just a few minutes ago:

“I finally clicked on the ending of my novel I’ve been working on for the last year. It just was like a lightning bolt striking me in its clarity. It’s perfect.

Now, it’s time to end this book!

I can’t even begin to describe to you what it feels like when clarity occurs, when the lightning bolt hit, just how that feels.

It’s better than any drug… better than orgasm, folks.

THIS is why I write!”

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that compares to this.

Love and stuff,

I did it…

It’s over and done.

109,000 words and forty-four brilliant chapters.

I just write the last word of the last sentence of the last chapter on the last page of a book that’s taken almost one year to the day to write.

I should be breathing deeply and saying, “Thank God it’s over!” but I find myself ready to move on to the next one!

Now, if you will excuse me, it’s time to have a little sparkling wine and celebrate this with my family.

Love and stuff,

PS: yay me!
